Impeachment vote likely this week

She knows she doesn't have the votes in the Senate so she's trying to keep this threat active until *just* before the election, that way the acquittal (which they will contend is partisan politics no matter what the evidence) will charge up the NeverTrumpers to go to the polls no matter how ambivalent they are to the final Democratic nominee.

And after the Dems wait to get the trial on the news this summer just after their convention, expect them to blame the delay on the GOP in the Senate not accepting their "reasonable" terms.

In some ways, I think the GOP is reaping their reward for the impeachment of Clinton. I just hate it's Trump that paying for that stupidity.

It's amazing how quickly the Democrats felt they had to move on the impeachment, but now want to stall it going to the Senate. The Democratic leadership claims they want to ensure there will be a fair trial in the Senate for them; not the person being impeached. Were the impeachment hearings fair when Republicans could not bring witnesses forward to rebut witnesses called by the Democrats? Talk about hypocrisy; the Democrats keep proving over and over how hypocritical they are.

This hypocrisy will blow up in their faces.

I read an article this morning that claimed Trump is not actually impeached until the House sends it over to the Senate, and House managers present the Impeachment to them.

This, coupled with Nasty Nancy's indication that she might sit on it for a bit makes me wonder what they are up to. I still think this is all about keeping the issue in the court of public opinion and not any official action.

In all reality they must know it's a lousy case and they will lose going to trial. All they had at the hearing was nothing more than conjecture, speculation, hearsay. They presented not one piece of evidence that could convict.
Which goes back to my earlier statement, they want to keep the impeachment in the forefront for as long as they can. They have known from the beginning that Trump would not be removed from office and this whole impeachment mess has been nothing an attempt to destroy Trump in the court of public opinion. But from what I've seen, it's not working.

The GOP, NOT Trump should keep telling the American people by quoting their own Constitutional expert who testified in the judiciary impeachment hearing; Trump has not been impeached until they deliver the articles to the Senate. GOP, "Hello American voters. We would just like to remind you of a very important fact the liberal news media and even the Democratic Party seems to be ignoring. Noah Feldman who testified on behalf of the Democrats during the judiciary committee's impeachment hearing and is regarded by the Democrats as a Constitutional expert has recently stated President Trump is not impeached until the House delivers the articles of impeachment to the Senate. The Senate cannot try the president until those articles are delivered to them. According to the Constitution, the sole responsibility of trying the president belongs to the Senate. The House can only designate the managers for impeachment; those who serve as the prosecutors. The Senate decides upon the rules for impeachments, just as the House sets the rules for the impeachment hearings. Although the rules established by the House was solely constructed by the Democrats of the House alone; Republicans were not permitted to be a party of constructing the rules. You should be able to see for yourself how one-sided the House was. The House said they had no choice but to act quickly on the impeachment because there would be an election next year, but where is that sense of urgency today? Now the House Democrats led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi are stalling to deliver the articles of impeachment, claiming they want a say in how the Senate trial rules are established. It appears the House Democrats believe they have the right to dictate to the Senate, as if they have more power than the Senate. This only serves as yet another example of not just the hypocrisy of the House Democrats, but also their desire for greater power than what they have in an attempt to interfere with the rights of the American voters. God save this country."

She's afraid that if she lets it go too early, the Senate could run the trial and acquit long before November, thus greatly reducing the impact on "never trump" voters of their claims that the acquittal is political.

She's going to release it late, hope that the GOP tries to ram-rod a trial, then the Dems will claim it's a farce trial. Millions of their idiot followers would believe it just because they hate the man, regardless of the evidence.

I think the GOP should calmly wait until they deliver the articles, producing warnings that delaying the start of trial is preventing justice from being done, then when they finally get the articles, proceed to drag out the trial until after the elections, claiming they need these witnesses to ensure an impartial trial and put the blame squarely on the House for delaying the start of the trial. Without a verdict *or* and acquittal to flash in front of their loyal followers to fan the flames, I think it would end up hurting the Dems much more than the President. Trump voters are going to be out in force anyway, the Dems *need* something spectacular to get their groupies out. (Unless Mrs. Obama runs, then all bets are off)

The longer they drag it out, the more the GOP needs to address the American voters how the Dems are only doing this to push the whole thing closer to the election to interfere with the election.

Oh holy carp. Facebook is just full of liberal that hate the man, so have convicted him without trial. I may have to sign off of social media for the duration.

The hate is just disgusting! And most of them cannot give you a good reason why they hate him.
