I bet most of us here thought Black Magic Woman was originally a Santana song. It wasn't. Peter Green, founder of Fleetwood Mac wrote it. He was also the lead guitarist/vocalist. The song was recorded by the band and released in 1969. Green left the group during their 1970 European tour.

The first single they released was Oh Well in 1969. Green also wrote it. It was called Oh Well (Pt. 1) on the A-side and Oh Well (Pt. 2) on the B-side.

Some of you are old enough to remember the Jesus movement from the late 60s through the mid-70s. This is when contemporary Christian music started. Some of these songs are also charted well on Billboard. This one made it to number 14 in the US.

Yes they are!

I love to see kids taking an interest in classic rock. Hopefully, it will make a comeback some day.

Both Tommy Shaw and Kelly Hanson work with kids a lot. Can't find a video of Kelly, but here is Tommy Shaw with a youth orchestra

I saw this a long time ago, and thought it was amazing.

On a lighter note and especially for a Friday night here’s a clip of Billy Strings with Willie Nelson. If you’re not familiar with BS I recommend you look him up. IMO he is one of the most talented young musician in bluegrass country music today. He can absolutely own a guitar and mandolin.

Here is his story, not unlike many musicians:

I've watched a lot of Billy Strings. I particularly like him playing Doc Watson's Beaumont Rag,,, I wish I had half of that talent.

It took me a while to accept his flair and stage presence but once I got beyond those obstacles I gained respect for his talent. I’m more of a traditionalist so it took a while. Truth be told I wish I could play 10% as good as him.
