prayer requested for my Dad please

Most of you may not know but there is man that pretty much raised me from the time I was 7. He and my mom have been together as a couple since I was 7. They never married but I call him my Dad because even though I lost my real dad when I was 5 , Pops stepped in and for all practical purposes I was blessed with 2 dads. Pops is 83 years old and his health has been in decline for the last year. He has some heart issues going on and apparently things are getting bad again. My sister called me tonight and said that he is having some numbing issues again and this time It is going down his left side and into his left leg and arm (he has been having them since his heart trouble began but this episode seems to be worse than before). He has an appt. tomorrow morning with his heart doctor.

I am very worried about him! If you don't mind please say a prayer for my Pops. I love that man dearly and it breaks my heart to see him declining in health. He has a heart the size of Texas and has always been there for me to help if he could whenever I needed him.

Thanks so much

You got it! Is he by himself tonight?
No one of the truck drivers where he used to work is staying with him tonight to keep him company =) He still lives on the property of the trucking company he worked at for over 25 years. They look after him. They can be out on the road for a week or two at a time, but all of them always check in on him when they get back into town. I am very thankful for his trucking family. They love him to and take good care of him for us when we can't be with him.

Ok, good. That was the first thing I thought of, him being out there by himself. I am sure he will be okay. :hug

Sounds like a very special pop.... Prayers

Yes I made sure he wasn't alone cause I was gonna go stay if he was. I couldn't bare him being alone if something were to happen. My cell phone number is posted on his fridge if any of them need to get in touch with us in a hurry =)

He is a special Pops. He used to work for Kennesaw transportation up in Rydel Ga. He worked up until about 8 months ago. He didn't do much but he went down there every single day and did all the little stuff. Mainly putting stickers on all the trailers and stuff. Man has always been a hard worker and has had a hard time not working even at his age.

My poopaw is the same way... He has to putter around and keep busy.

I just love older folk. I bet he has some stories to tell.

yes he does but my favorite stories are his military stories from back in the day. He has some awesome pictures to from back then. He was a helicopter pilot/mechanic and worked on the army's jeeps and trucks to.

When I was a kid he spoiled me...he always came to mom's after he got off work and would pick me up and take me to the corner store to get me my coke and snickers bar. Now he could easily stop and buy it and bring it to me, but he loved how excited I got by just a simple thing as going to the store. It was our bonding time =) I had to take him home from my moms house a while back and we stopped for gas and he said I'll be back I need to run in and get me a few things..I said ok, be careful. He came back out to the car with a coke and a snickers bar for me :love That completely made my day!

Thanks for letting me share my stories...it's good to reflect back. Thank you all for the prayers..I do appreciate them! I am off to bed..it's been a long day.

You got the prayers, sweetie. He sounds a lot like my own dear father who walked on ahead a few years ago. I'll pray the Lord's comfort and mercy for you all.

Thanks everyone! I do appreciate it. :love Just waiting to hear what the doc says today. I'll update later on when I know.

I'm praying for your Pops, too. I love hearing your stories....share them all with us!

And I'll be waiting to hear from you what the docs say today!

Very irritated at the moment! The heart doc is telling us that he needs to be seen by his primary doc first and they are trying to say he doesn't need to be seen until Monday, the soonest they can get him in. :rant :rant :rant She is still arguing with them so we'll see what happens! uggh

Can she get the primary dr.'s office involved? Come on...get a grip, people!

Or, hey - if you're still having trouble, you could have me and/or Union Mom call them. I predict they would see him right away. ;)
