For me personally, I am going to work on my organizational skills and my need to keep every little thing. I have been getting better at letting things that I don't really need go, but I still have a long ways to go. My sister amd brother-in-law are visiting for the a week the first part of Jan, but once they leave, I have these 2 big rubbermaid contaiers full of schoolwork and other papers that I plan on working through....hey, it's a start!

Check out this web site - unclutterer.com. It's a godsend to those of us who have to learn organizational skills (as opposed to those of us who were born with them, like my 4yo nephew...no kidding...he can organize anything...kinda freaky, actually).

For me, the stop smoking trick was to finally truly tie it to something that mattered. For me that was never wanted my son (daughter wasn't born yet) to ever in his life have the chance to think that I chose smokes over him. That was it. Never a puff again after that. Coming up on 7 years now.

That was why my dad quit; this was around the time they were first learning that cigarettes were bad for you, and so when I was born, the cigs went bye-bye. I'm so thankful. They say within something like a year (maybe sooner, I can't remember) a smoker's lung looks just as healthy as a non-smoker's lung. I'll tell you something to really gross you out - google/bing comparison pics of a smoker's lung and a healthy lung. I'm telling you...mortally revolting. UM, I'm proud of you! Naturegirl - I'll pray that you can do it and make it permanent! If I'd ever started smoking, I KNOW I'd have had the devil of a time quitting...I'm just that way. But you won't be sorry you did, I know that. I'm going to write myself a sticky note so I'll remember to pray for you, NG.

I will have to check that out!

I don't usually make resolutions, but I have thought of one today. After reading tuscany trailer's thread over at pcom about her son getting a $251 ticket for not coming to a dead stop at a stop sign, I hereby resolve to come to a complete stop at any and all stop signs. I am really bad about this, too. Being a Type A, I generally consider stop signs to be yield/take-your-foot-off-the-gas signs. There's one in my neighborhood that is REALLY bad...there's NO reason for it to be there, and there are several other identical intersections that don't have signs. So I generally blow that one off. But I'm gonna stop from now on. One, because it's the right thing to do and 4yo nephew needs to see good driving habits, and two, because I'd be HACKED if I got a $251 ticket!!!

I do not have a lose weight, start exercising, or de clutter need, but I do think I am going to try to take each day and enjoy it to the fullest for my sons last semester of high school. :'( We all look for what is next, when is break, when is Mother's Day, what is happening next week, graduation is so and so, I just want to make sure I take time to enjoy each moment I can daily with him before this chapter of his life is over and we are off and running to the next.

Having a Type A personality is a curse. I drive myself crazy sometimes. :BH
