how did you melt the bags? did you use the freezer ones or the sandwich ones? Did you boil them longer than 13 minutes?

Yes, no and no.

It's cool. They drifted over to the edge and I guess it just got too hot. I rescued them and they turned out fine. Brillo Pad and I took care of the rest. ;D

that's crazy that they melted..ours didn't but as long as they turned out ok I guess all is good.

So, do you spray the inside of the bag with any non-stick before cooking?

I'm just imagining this big mess that won't leave the bag!!!! stirthepot2

That's all I want to be, Sis :laugh They did pop out okay after I double-bagged. Kinda looked like pre-historic wild mountain oysters.

I've just seen pictures...I dunno :sick

So I got curious as to why your bags melted Lil' Bro and went to youtube. Found several posted there and they had their bags lying on the edge of the pan and none melted.

The only thing I could think was, do you have a gas stove and did the heat from flame possibly melt the bag?

We've done this hundreds of times and never melted a bag to the pot. I'm thinking that now that you have posted the video on how it's supposed to be done JR just might figure out what he did wrong. :D

My guess is........... not enough water in the pot. :p

Ummm JR the flame should not extend beyond the pot you are cooking in. As you can see from the video, the pot is much bigger. So how did the plastic flavored omelet taste?? :D

Well, I had to use the brillo pad on my teeth when I got done with the pan. But otherwise, it's all good

Ok, Dumb question.... do you keep the water at a boil for 13min? Or do you turn it down to just under a boil for the 13min.

Looks good from here.

Yea, we keep it boiling. I check it after about 5 or 6 minutes and squish it up again. Just want to be sure the eggs get good and done all the way through. We put our names on the outside with a sharpie so we know who's is who's. When you're feeding 20+ at a time, it sure helps. :)

They really do fluff up like an omelet, they're not like scrambled eggs. Much moister and no oil or butter is used at all. :)
