Braves 2023

They have been playing very good ball this whole season. Occasionally a down game or series but overall probably the best offensive team in MLB. They have been jumping on opponents early (first inning) and cruising through the games. Offense-A+, Defense-A, Starters-C, Bullpen-C+, Managing-A. They are going to have down games offensively. Defense is very good infield and outfield with left field being the biggest question mark. Murphy and d'Arnaud are excellent behind the plate. Their Achilles heel right now is pitching. Starters have managed to keep damage to a minimum with Morton and Elder pretty consistent. Strider is struggling even though his strike outs are high. Wright and Freid are out. The bullpen is by committee with Chavez being the most consistent but unfortunately he is injured right now. Iglesias scares me to death he gave up a four run lead in the ninth last week. They need a ninth inning shut down closer which they just don't have now. Still over all they may be the best team in MLB.

Braves now up 7-5. The offense is just relentless. If the offense stays this good when Wright and Freid get back, they will cruise to another division title.
 
I can be their biggest critic when they play bad but yes this is a very good team. Offensively they are as dangerous a line up as there is in MLB. Pitching is their Achilles heel with injured starters and a sometimes on sometimes off bullpen. They need a shutdown closer for sure. Several games they have went into the 9th with multiple run leads and squeaked out by a run. All in all I have watched more this season than usual and I am enjoying the games.
 
Anyone else watching the game tonight? The offense is killing it. It is still very early (still first inning) but Braves already have 5 runs.
