Covid is right here, and it's getting bad fast.

BTW...Guard Daughter had her antibodies tested today while at the doctor getting her ears cleaned out (she has wax build-up problems). She had WuFlu same time as I did, just didn't get nearly as sick (age matters). She still has strong antibodies. She asked her doctor if she should get vaccinated, doc said unless she needs to because of a mandate, no reason to.

People are starting to wake up that natural....errr...immunity from PREVIOUS INFECTION is real and durable.

.immunity from PREVIOUS INFECTION is real

It is, but not for everyone. There are many people who had it before are getting infected again (the lady you mentioned that has had it 3 times is just one example). I know of two others that are now infected for a second time (one was vaccinated, one wasn't).

At my work, we shutdown between Christmas and New Years so nobody is working this week. We now have to have a negative test done either this Sunday or Monday in order to go back in the office. While this sounds like a good idea, I told the powers that be that it is stupid (I said it nicely) since, given how fast Omicron spreads, a negative test on Sunday means virtually nothing on Tuesday and beyond.

I also just heard from a coworker (who's office is next to mine) that she probably has it (she is vaccinated...not sure if boosted...no test yet) and 4 of her family members have tested positive.

This is a mess!

True, but same with the vaccine. Neither are 100% effective. But more and more data shows that natural immunity is probably at least as good as the vaccine, and probably longer lasting. That's just opposite what the CDC told us, and neither they nor the administration have yet to recognize natural immunity.

BTW...the lady who has it for the 3rd time is also vaccinated and boosted. So neither is working. That stuff apparently loves her!

I'm not claiming the vaccine doesn't work, I only want our government to admit that natural immunity is also immunity, especially when it comes to the mandates. Most other countries recognize natural immunity, but ours does not. I'm pretty sure we all know the reasons for that.

The director of the World Health Organization is at odds with Fauci over boosters. It seems the WHO is claiming boosters shouldn't be given until the rest of the world achieves at least 40% vaccinated. He claims "vaccine inequality" because half the countries are below 40% because the vaccines are not being distributed to other countries fairly.

Cry me a river.

I have mixed feelings about boosters, but as far as the rest of the world goes, well, I have mixed feelings about that too.

One part of me says Americans first before the rest of the world. But the logical part of me asks, if we don't help to build immunity in the rest of the world, will that prolong the pandemic? Maybe not, kinda getting above my pay grade there. I really don't buy the stuff about the unvaxccinated causing mutations, there's also a good argument that the vaccines actually encourage mutations. Again, above my pay grade.

So I don't know. Just wanna do what's best for the American people first, whatever that is.

WHO?

(Sorry, couldn’t help it…it just blurted right out)

If you can even find a test right now. Most of the pharmacies are out of home tests, and doctor's offices/clinics are being told to only test when a patient is showing symptoms.

This is gonna be a huge problem for Biden's mandate; it has a provision for weekly testing if not vaccinated, but there aren't nearly enough tests available. Mickey Dees attempted to order so many millions of tests for their stores to use for their employees, but they can't get them either.

They can barely get supplies right now. Several local stores have had to close lately because they were out of meat. Part of the problem is a shortage of truck drivers. If you think it's bad now, just wait until the mandate kicks in. The fun is just beginning.

1.83 today

I suspect the real number is much higher. I know tons of people with COVID right now, but between the lack of tests and milder symptoms, I would bet at least half the cases are going unreported.

I say help ourselves first, then our good allies.

Gobs of people from church have it now. Wife and I are staying away for awhile.
Guess we’re watching online tomorrow. Can’t take the chance of exposure since we’re headed down to see family in South Georgia this weekend.
