Electric vehicles....

Be careful what you wish for:
1). Those big long buggers a pain in the butt to park in places like Home Depot and Lowe's,, (where else would you be going??)
2). Those dually flairs will hit everything you forgot about like mail boxes, garage doors and rub rails at the drive thru,, just sayin!
3). They are so tall that you can't pull up and get your mail out of the mail box, you have to stop two feet away and get out of the truck.
4). The only good Powerstroke no longer exists. They have since had a series of three diesels, none of which measure up to the old 7.3.

We live in sad times.

I actually prefer our Toyota Rav4. As an older person (74), it is very easy to get in and out of without having to do a deep knee bend and the cargo area is easier to access than a trunk. It handles well and the 6 speed auto will really accelerate when needed and still get 22 mpg.
At some point I realized that practicality takes precedence over pride. I then bought a used F150 short bed club cab for trips to the dump and Home Depot,,, best part of this truck is that it doesn't use Government Juice.

5). All new diesels require Government Juice (DEF).

Agreed not the everyday drive to the market vehicle but they are not meant to be. They are made to haul. I own a 7.3 F-350 crew cab 4x4 and have had no problem navigating anywhere. They do have mirrors so wheel flairs or truck length never cross my mind. I don' stop in the road to get my mail so mailbox not an issue. The Powerstrokes are still good engines but agree the 7.3 is the best so far. As for DEF it has been the highway standard for years. They have not made an off road diesel compatible in years. I do burn off road in my tractor and skid steer. I have an F-250 7.3 4x4 extended cab too. Would not sell either one and I get asked a lot about selling them. As for the Jap stuff I never consider them.

I can't see getting a dually unless you're towing big weight. I drove dually box trucks for years and they can be hard to park.

I want to get a new truck in 2022, but I'm unsure which one. Will probably just be a half ton, I don't plan to tow more than they can handle. The new Tundra is backordered for at least a year and a half. I generally like Chevys, but they seem to be having way too many problems. Love Dodges RAM), but some of them have been troublesome. Done some checking though and the last couple of years have been better. And then there's Ford. I really don't care for the look of the Ford, but their Power Boost option is absolutely brilliant! So they might be on my radar.

Big question is...can I find one to buy that they don't want a fortune for?

What year is your Rav4? We are looking at SUVs, but wife had a experience in a friend's older RAV4 and thinks its' small. The specs all indicate it's no smaller than our Equinox which she loves.

Ours is a 2013.
Can avoid DEF by having the system deleted…..so I’ve heard but personally I would never ever do that.
No No No,,, ask the Diesel Brothers of TV fame. The EPA has fined them over $650,000 I hear. The EPA is tracking companies that offer the packages for sale, then subpoena their customer lists. They are animals I tell ya!!!

Finnish Man Tuomas Katainen decided to explode his Model S after he was told to pay €20,000 (around $22,500) for a new battery for his car.

The car's battery system has a lifespan of eight years and a cost of more than $22K to replace the battery. My Mustang is a 2007 with 189K miles and runs like a dream. I've only had to replace the alternator, the battery twice, and brake pads. In total, those costs came to about $600.

I think it's safe to say this person was just a little upset over the battery cost for his Telsa:

Wow, that was impressive and didn't paint a good picture of Telsa.
