Mass Resignation from the Mormon Church

Apparently this went well. There were at least 1500 resignations. It is not known how many became atheists and how many moved to other faiths.

Homosexuality isn't just about sex. It's also about love.

I don't think anyone doubts that homosexuals can love each other. But that doesn't make it OK.

I would guess that there are pedophiles who love their child partners, and the children love them back. It's still wrong.

I could come up with other parallels, but I think that one makes my point.

I do not agree with the Mormon church's condemnation of children from same-sex couples. In fact I think that to be contrary to the teachings of Jesus. But I do support them on their belief that homosexuality is wrong.

Pedophilia is not a parallel. A child cannot consent to a sexual relationship.

Even at 3,500 that's only a drop in the bucket to their estimated 15M membership. I'm not a Mormon (or a moron) so I can't legitimately speak on their faith, but obviously they don't condone homosexuality, not unlike many religious faiths.

I would bet money that not one person here would agree that a person having sex with a child or animal is okay. You can not say the same for homosexuality. That is two consenting adults that love one another. Whether you believe it to be a sin or not it is not the same or parallel at all.
If that were the case.............the parallel can be made that those that had sex before marriage are the same as a pedophile.

I notice you did not respond to the fact you go for the shock and disgust value of comparing homosexuals to pedophiles when the parallel with having premarital sex would actually make your point. (IF you believe that the bible does in fact state that after so many rewritings and a word that was not around....but I digress) Instead of totally making your point sound like it has no credibility and you are just against homosexuals a better parallel should be used.
