School shooting in TX elementary school

I had some issues until I climbed over 6'. Then most people left me alone.
I was a bit of a late bloomer. I was smaller while in school, and though it wasn't real bad, I did get teased some.

Fast forward 30 years...I finished in trade school, and didn't get listed with my graduating class. Reconnected with some classmates in Classmate.com (yeah, remember them?), and got added back to the roster and went to my 30th reunion. No one could believe it was me, I was now bigger than almost all the football players.

But yes, when you are a bigger guy, people tend to not bother you,

I couldn't watch it all, I just couldn't. I think many parents would feel the same if they knew their kid's life was at stake. The police would have to shoot me in the back while I was running in. Many parents would gladly lay down their life to protect their kid.

I would throw myself in front of a gunman to save any random kid...

I do not know how or why they wasted precious time to enter,
I could not live with myself knowing that I stood outside...

My heart aches for the law enforcement and first responders who bore witness to the carnage,
most of them will never recover from the trauma.

The on-site commander, the chief of the school district's police department in Uvalde, Texas, believed Ramos was barricaded inside the classroom and that children were no longer at risk, giving police time to prepare, McCraw said.

"From the benefit of hindsight where I'm sitting now, of course, it was not the right decision," McCraw said. "It was the wrong decision."

I can't imagine why the police chief made that decision. I'm sure he regrets it now, but that doesn't excuse it. He seems to be in hiding now which isn't surprising, and, to be honest, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if he ends up eating one of his own bullets.

Well, this is looking like a real mess. The police are now admitting to making a poor decision.

Also, it's being reported that the teacher propped the outside door open just minutes before the shooter came in.

Teacher opens door, police refuse to take part, and then try to stop the only man that helped. He was getting a haircut
and when he heard he borrowed the barbers shotgun and solved the problem. Is this not a setup? Dems want
to take guns so they (ccp) can take over so lets talk some stupid into killing people.

Public school districts for the most part are run by idiots. What happened in Uvalde proves that. That gunman should have never been able to get into that school in the first place. They could have taken measures long ago to ensure that.

Another mistake made by "an authority" regarding this incident. Or perhaps a change of story was issued since the local LE officials are already in enough hot water. Interesting correction though.

I'm probably gonna defend Biden on this one. It's common for leaders to visit after such happenings to show support.

President Biden, or Let's Go Brandon, did not go to give condolences to the the Waukesha, Wisconsin families that were plowed down in a Christmas Parade by the black dude who was a violent 39-year-old career criminal, Because it does not fit the narrative the Marxists need the country to believe.

The guy who plowed them down had been let off with a soft on crime gentler Soros type DA... he was a registered sex offender and amateur rapper from north Milwaukee with a rap sheet going back to 1999, who allegedly punched the mother of his child in the face a month earlier and then drove over her, leaving tire marks on her leg. Despite the severity of that crime, he was released five days before the Waukesha rampage on a cash bail of just $1,000 set by liberal Milwaukee County prosecutors.

The president had been criticized for not visiting Waukesha after the parade attack and choosing instead to spend the Thanksgiving holiday at the sprawling $20 million Nantucket estate of private equity billionaire David Rubenstein.

The driver, 39, was charged with six counts of intentional homicide over the deadly crash that also left more than 60 injured.

Here's an interesting article on about an off-duty border patrol agent entering the school with a shotgun and evacuating students and teachers from one wing of the school, while police were outside waiting.

"The American people need to understand that officers are making entry into this building. They do not know where this gunman is," Olivarez said. "...At that point, that gunman would have had an opportunity to kill other people inside that school. So, they were able to contain that gunman inside that classroom so that he was not able to go to any other portions of the school to commit any other killings." Lt. Chris Olivarez from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
I have an issue with what the Lt. said. If the police didn't go into the building because they did not know where the active shooter was, then how could they have contained him in a classroom?

If Soldiers and Marines can be trained to enter a building with active shooters then police officers can be trained as well. I know there are police departments that train for these situations. I stand by what I said in an earlier post, the Ulvade police chief needs to be fired.

Very good point. It is pretty hypocritical of him isn’t it.
