Covid is right here, and it's getting bad fast.

Isn't it the percentage testing to the percent testing positive? If few are testing, the number will look dire.

To be honest, now when our employe has a cold, we chalk it up to a cold- mostly because everyone has been vaccinated or had covid. No one has been tested for covid since January that I know of.

Everyone who has had a cold... had only a cold. The testing in my city has dried up... so those who do get tested must be doing it because they feel really badly and think it is covid.

Before, you could not return to work without a negative covid test. Now, we don't pay any attention to a runny nose. We had a cold go around. Several people stayed home with their child who was sick, then they got the cold, but that is all it was. A garden variety runny nose.

Let’s start in our own circles, does anyone know of anyone currently fighting covid either at home or at a hospital? I currently do not…thankfully.

Haven't heard of any.

According to the GDOH, looks like Paulding has a slight rise in the last 30 days up to approx 8 confirmed cases a day: (whatever that means)

Confirmed Cases per week seem to be about the same for the week of 6/26 as the week of 7/3.

Positive Lab test rates are slightly higher, but if it's like us, we had to have multiple tests until we were clear to get into see mom at the home, so some are duplicates. Positive tests per day for Paulding was 13/day.

How many of the "new" cases in the USA are from illegal immigrants?
All these people rushing the border have the potential to bring covid... and yet Biden welcomes them.
I have no doubt that some of them are carrying it. Just one of many things wrong with the current border policy.

Well.... need to change my answer. Sound "I don't need no stinkin' vaccine" Brother just texted me that he has a heavy duty case. Had symptoms start on Sat, in the ER with 102.5 fever on Sunday. He's Army, they've told him to stay away from the base until the 20th.

Sister in law has it as well, she's feeling like its a case of the flu.

Fun, fun, fun.

Truly sorry to hear that. Thanks for the "revision" and please keep us updated. Prayers for both.

I'm wondering how many people he gave it to on Thurs/Friday before the symptoms appeared. He's an anti masker as well, so I know dang well he was spreading it wherever he went.

Thought I'd jump in on this topic.

I understand folks who don't want to get it have their reasons. That's fine. What isn't is when those same folks go out, with or without a mask, and act like they won't catch it or they can't give it to someone else.

Given that the national vaccine rate, fully vaccinated, is not very high. Georgia is 39% fully vaccinated - https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/3d8eea39f5c1443db1743a4cb8948a9c. Given that the new variant is more aggressive, there are still the prior variants, and it doesn't surprise me a bit that the infection/hospitalization rates have jumped.

No surprise, but the messaging from government and health officials has been poor at best. Message is - if you haven't gotten the vaccine then you will probably get the virus. If you haven't gotten the vaccine and you get the virus, then good chance you will be very sick and possibly die. If you get the virus, and you don't quarantine or at least follow masking guidelines, then you will give it to someone else which could kill them. If you are fully vaccinated, then you will most likely not get the virus. If by chance you get the virus after being fully vaccinated, a rarity, then the symptoms will be far less.

Tell him not to do like I did and wait too long to get help. I was told that had I waited one more day to go to the hospital, I probably would have died.

I'm surprised the Department of Defense hasn't made the covid vaccine mandatory. The flu shot is mandatory for all personnel.
