Covid is right here, and it's getting bad fast.

Got a call early this morning that my office manager and service manager were sick. But both tested negative, so we're thinking the Flu.
My son and daughter-in-law, who are currently in Dallas, GA, both got sick after going to dinner at a friends house. The dad got sick, called them to warn them because he thought it was covid, but had not been tested yet due to a hard time finding a testing appointment.

Son had terrible chills, fever, and sweating along with a horrible lower back ache and body pain with a severe headache and terrible sore throat... that lasted 3 days. Then that all went away except the sore throat, but he was left with new symptoms of a mild nose and chest congestion... but very mild. He got better. As he was getting better D-I-L came down with it but she has not had the body ache, she has had greater chest and sinus congestion, sore throat with a headache that has lasted .

They were sure it was Omnicron... but the dad and his wife, who also came down with it, got their test results, and it was not Covid. Seems to just be the flu.

That sounds like Omicron. The back pain is a common symptom.

When I was getting the antibody treatment the doctor and I were discussing the test accuracy. He stated that tests were designed to be more likely false negative than false positive.

That is what I thought... all the top Omicron symptoms were there... he said it was horrible back pain.

I was jealous... sure that it was Omicron from the symptoms he was going through. He never got tested. At the time he said he might see if he had the antibodies later, but since it was during the New Year's week, he had no interest in venturing out and getting tested.

I just want to get Omicron and be done with it.

Course, all that means is same huge number of cases this week as last week. At least it’s not getting worse.
I think it probably has gotten worse, but most of the cases are not being reported due to lack of testing. I know tons of people with it right now.

But thankfully, none are terribly ill.

My guess is that we will have another week or two because it actually peaks, then the real numbers will start coming down.

Whatever is running through my office, I am the only one of the office staff who isn't sick. Don't know if that will last, just keeping my fingers crossed. None of the others have had COVID and I have, so maybe my antibodies are helping. Just don't know. And two have tested negative, but we're not sure we can trust the tests.
